“WCL”?

[edit]

What is “WCL”?

It is used in the tables but is nowhere defined.

Is it the same thing as Kalaw Lagaw Ya? -- pne (talk) 19:58, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know and haven't dug deep, but Google took me first to the Gudang language, and skimming a few other articles lead me to believe that it stands for Western Central Language, which is the same as Kalaw Lagaw Ya. Hard to find a reliable source for that exact term and abbreviation though. This says "Kala Lagaw Ya (also written as Kalaw Lagaw Ya) is the traditional language owned by the Western and Central islands of the Torres Strait".
