Uncertain history[edit]

There are conflicting reports about the location, dates of production and the reason for the company's end. Colin Laker (a highly respected expert on the subject) has written in Toy Steam News that his researches indicate the Cooper's building was the head office, and the factory was in Wallasey. It was the Coopers building that was bombed but this was after Mersey Models had already vacated the premises. The earliest and latest dates of production he can find are 1934 - 39. I have not made any changes to the article because this magazine type source cannot be considered to be a "reliable source" to be cited. Colin's researches are continuing for a forthcoming book but that will be some time in the future. I'm not sure if Colin is an editor on Wikipedia but I doubt it given that he has not contributed to this article. If someone else can confirm Colin's finding with reliable sources then an edit would be in order. --Roly (talk) 12:18, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure but if any of his source material is available to cite we should make sure the article is accurate. Otherwise we'll use the book as soon as it is out. Stlwart111 13:59, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
