Russian helicopters

[edit]

Doesnt or didnt mexico have the mil mi 24.If it did but retired them then it should appear on the retired aircraft spot.Villagomians (talk) 01:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, Mexico never operated Mil Mi-24. Cheers, BatteryIncluded (talk) 16:27, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possible F-16 Falcons

[edit]

Theres been many rumors going around saying that Mexico is planing on buying f-16 to replace its f-5s from 2008-2012.It also says they want to buy anti aircraft artilary.

Heres a reference its in spanish http://www.jornada.unam.mx/2007/10/11/index.php?section=politica&article=007n1pol

Actually, as of today, there is no official purchase request for any fighter jet airplanes for The FAM or the Armada. BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:30, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mexican new UAV (unmanded aircraft)

[edit]

I have seen that mexico has build unmaned combat aircraft here is the link www.flightglobal.com/articles/2007/06/18/214770/mexico-throws-its-hat-into-the-ring-with-ehecatl.html

Should we add this information ?

I think that most air forces would include only people-carrying aircraft.BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS: they are not combat UAV but for observation and are used by the federal police, not the air force. BatteryIncluded (talk) 01:40, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect base location?

[edit]

In the list of Mexican Air force bases, El Cipres is shown as being in Baja. Isn't it correctly Tamaulipas state? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Khutter (talkcontribs) 22:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I checked it, Cipres base is in Baja California: [1] BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:37, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect roundel proportions

[edit]

I have seen the triangle of the Mexican Air Force with the Green triangle with any kind of proportions, from very small to quite large, in different aircrafts.

Which is the right proportion? Mexico, AGS, Dagoflores --189.166.8.159 (talk) 22:37, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Check http://www.machtres.com/fam.htm against roundel in this article. MX -- AGS -- --Dagofloreswi (talk) 22:37, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Give or take 2mm, i'd say potayto - potatoh. :-) BatteryIncluded (talk) 01:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Verrrryyyy Funnny... thanks., I meant proportion, not mm´s MX -- AGS -- --Dagofloreswi (talk) 05:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The FAM does not have a standardized roundel. Check its differences in these two images: [2], [3]. --BatteryIncluded (talk) 21:39, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It does too, the triangles are concentric and share their centroide (of gravity); the proportion of distances from the common center to the external border of the triangles is in the proportion 1 (green), 2 (white), 3 (red). MX -- AGS -- --Dagofloreswi (talk) 01:04, 23 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.102.87.107 (talk) [reply]

Combat Aircraft

[edit]

I saw in the article that it stated mexico has 180 combat aircraft. Yet there are only 8 combat aircraft listed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.185.104 (talk) 10:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The exact aircraft quantity is unknown and undisclosed by the SEDENA as such. However, the combined information from various sources such as aircraft spotters, news media, military pilots, Estado Mayor Presidencial, aircraft vendors, etc., can give us an aproximation. 24.0.183.16 (talk) 15:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Military Parade on every September 15 is important to keep tabs on the fleet as they fly everithing capable of flying over Mexico City.BatteryIncluded (talk) 19:21, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Mexican generals wanted to purchase the Russian Su-27 but the budget was not approved. No purchase of any supersonic aircraft is on the table as of April 2008. We may see new surveillance aircraft, helicopters and some more Pilatus. Will wait until received and will delete any any rumors, specially those linking to forums. BatteryIncluded (talk) 20:38, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In this report in 2007, general Galvan mentioned the 'need' of sixteen F-16. A request is not the same as a purchase, as we saw with the failed attempt to acquire Su-27 or additional F-5. Although the budget was made available, most of it is spent as salaries to curve desertion and corruption in the military. The F-16 (or the failed purchase of additional F-5s) will NOT be included in this article's fleet because they are rumors only:

"En ese contexto indicó que entre 2008 y 2012 el Estado mexicano requiere comprar 16 aviones F-16, en flotillas de cuatro, para lo cual se requeriría una inversión inicial de mil 600 millones de pesos. También planeó la adquisición de artillería antiaérea." [4] -BatteryIncluded (talk) 19:22, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico could truly benefit from the purchase of 20-25 F-16 Block 52. I'm tired of them having to rely on the USA for air defense and seemingly only use their F-5E/F for demo flyovers and ground attack exercises. Buy F-16C/D, Mexico! Man.

No FAM between World war II and 1994?

[edit]

There is not a word about that part of FAM´s history. MX -- AGS -- --Dagofloreswi (talk) 05:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - Nothing but boring peace. Cheers, BatteryIncluded (talk) 16:42, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Mass Deletion

[edit]

I erased the ADD ONS on the bottom of the article that hold Equipment of The Mexican Air Force, which they do not have..only the army...they did not even have references do supposed modern weapons listed.

It is always useful and preferred that you discuss such change before doing it, especially when not answering to messages to this effect. I will look up the said equipment, and if so, the deletion is granted along with a note in the EDIT SUMMARY space provided to reflect the purpose and logic of the large deletion. Thank you. BatteryIncluded (talk) 21:53, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not discussing but please investigate this situation.Homan05

You were right, whatever of that equipment that Mexico does have, belongs to its army. The high tech items, such as the Spike missiles are false and unsourced claims. The entire section was deleted. Thank you for communicating this. Cheers, -BatteryIncluded (talk) 01:07, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

For national security reasons, the Mexican Air Force does not disclose the exact type or amount of aircraft in their fleet, but it is estimated at 4,800 aircraft

Needs to be edited the current Fleet is at 107 aircraft

(this aircraft doesn't exist)

Valdez L-07 The Valdez L-07 Luäng Äugnliergüill (Luchador Model 2007) is a 4.5 generation Mexican advanced fighter developed by Valdez Industria and Hydra Technologies of Mexico. It's name "Luäng Äugnliergüill" means Black Eagle in the Aztec language. It's airframe is based of the Sukhoi Su-37 although the L-07 uses no Russian components and is powered by two ROH V-1999/07-B L7 3D thrust vectoring engines. It was designed to be an advance from the Valdez L-04. It is also the worlds only fighter in service that can be fitted with the COFFIN System. The L-07 is the baseline model meant for all around duties. The L/C-07 Model ("C" being for "Combate") is specialized for the air superiority role and has an enemy fighter avionics disruptor system (the only aircraft to currently posses one). The L/A-07 Model ("A" being for "Ataque") is specialzed for the attack role and posses an advanced ground tracking system.

Orphaned references in Mexican Air Force

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Mexican Air Force's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
