Hello Fourthords

IMDb isn't a reliable source? I thought IMDb was the end all be all for movies and TV shows?

Hmmm . . . . would Wikipedia itself be a reliable source? Because i know of a wiki page that confirms Micheal Landes played that role.

Kind regards

Hello again! The IMDb isn't considered a reliable source per this page, mainly because it's a user-generated site (like Wikipedia iself), and cannot be relied upon. There's another page about that sort of sourcing; it's at WP:UGC and names the IMDb itself saying, "Content from websites whose content is largely user-generated is generally unacceptable." — Fourthords | =Λ= | 01:55, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well like i said i know a Wikipedia page that confirms it so would that do? Or would you recommend something else? Sin Shadow Fox (talk) 21:20, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
On the other Wikipedia page, what source does it cite? — Fourthords | =Λ= | 16:42, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't one (that i can find). I would have used that citation if it were there. The other page is Special Unit 2 and Michael Landes is listed for the role of Det. Nick O'Malley under Cast. Sin Shadow Fox (talk) 17:21, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(Sorry for my delay.) If there isn't a reliable source cited, and you don't have one to add from elsewhere, then we just don't add anything. That's a key part of the policy: "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution." No reliable source, no adding it. However, as an example, Rotten Tomatoes is a reliable source, and we may use it to expand the article. — Fourthords | =Λ= | 23:00, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will remember that. Rotten tomatoes, reliable source (wouldn't have thought it though). Thank you for everything though. This has been bothering me for years and I'm very happy to finally see him properly credited. Thank you ^_^ Sin Shadow Fox (talk) 23:07, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. You can still hit me at my talk page if you need anything not-specific to this article, and I'll be doing some more source-mining here in the coming weeks. — Fourthords | =Λ= | 23:30, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
