Claims
[edit]He was a "was a rapist and murderer" seems inappropriate to state when the man wasn't allowed the basic human rights to defend himself at the last minute. Given the USA's corrupt and incompetant justice system it seems that any claims to a persons guilt are inappropriate. Let's hope the judge who blocked his last appeal loses her job and gets a very long prison sentence.--217.203.135.204 (talk) 13:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- The appeal was not against the verdict but against the sentence. Specifically, in another case, the US Supreme Court had agreed to review whether lethal injection violated the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. Richard's lawyers, reasonably enough, wanted his execution halted while such review were underway. (Ultimately, the Supreme Court decided that lethal injection did not violate this prohibition.)
- I realize that the corrupt and incompetent European media are trying to spin this as if an innocent man may have been executed, but there was no reasonable doubt of Richard's guilt. The reason that Judge Keller is charged with misconduct is because even those proven guilty have legal rights here, and she appears to have grossly violated them.
- However, she is under no danger of prison sentence. If found guilty, she would lose her judgeship; hypothetically she might also be disbarred. Beyond that, there are only informal social sanctions possible. —SlamDiego←T 18:04, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
