Named after Mickey Mantle?

[edit]

Does anyone know? I mean, they're both from Oklahoma and both baseball players and Tettleton was born in 1960, when Mantle was at the peak of his career. I realize it could be a stretch and maybe it's just coincidence but don't forget that Mantle's father was such an avid baseball fan that he named his son after the Philadelphia Athletics catcher Mickey Cochrane, so maybe Tettleton was named after Mantle. I don't know for sure, that's why I'm asking. Ericster08 (talk) 04:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of old vandalism

[edit]

I have removed the line " and kept monkey/rabbit balls in his back pocket for good luck" which was added in June of 2007 by an anonymous user from IP address 24.192.178.221 . [user] vandalized several pages that summer. Aardvark92 (talk) 06:54, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on "Selective style" don't make sense

[edit]

I don't understand the text, "But his selective style at the plate, combined with his power hitting mentality also led to Tettleton's 1,307 career strike-outs". How can his selective style at bat lead to 1300+ strikeouts? It's sort of like saying a person's selective eating habits led to them weighing 400lbs. It makes more sense to me to say something along the lines of, "But despite his selective style at the plate, his power hitting mentality led to 1,307 career strikeouts" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Msturek (talkcontribs) 17:33, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
