Western end?
[edit]The map shows the Mid-Canada Line dipping south in BC towards the northern tip of Vancouver Island; presumably to Holberg (CFB Holberg?), but I thought that was part of the Pine Tree Line. I'm wondering because there was a Cold War-era listening station near Masset in the Queen Charlotte Islands. The following is a paragraph from the Queen Charlotte Islands page:
- A military intelligence gathering station that was key in monitoring communications in the northern portions of the former Soviet Union during the Cold War is located just outside Masset, near the northern tip of Graham island. This is referred to by some locals as the "elephant cage".
Was that independent of the DEW/Mid-Canada/Pine Tree system, or was it part of the Mid-Canada Line? If so, the map should be amended accordingly and something added to the Queen Charlottes article....Skookum1 (talk) 19:59, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- The paragraph in question has just been moved to Masset, British Columbia, so please direct any edits about it there.....Skookum1 (talk) 22:25, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
