- ... that Mirador mine has generated an environmental conflict that is emblematic in Ecuador's political debate on mining? Source: [1]
- Alt1: ... that operations at Mirador mine were shut down in June 2022 by protests in Ecuador? Source: Valencia, Alexandra (2022-06-26). "Ecuador government, indigenous leaders hold first talks amid protests". Reuters. Retrieved 2022-07-08.
- Reviewed: QPQ not required (2nd nomination)
- Comment: I think the Alt1 hook might be more interesting because it references recent events. Larataguera (talk) 14:38, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
5x expanded by Larataguera (talk). Self-nominated at 16:19, 6 July 2022 (UTC).
- @Larataguera: New enough and large enough expansion. User is QPQ exempt. My guess, given the Ecuador topic focus, is that your native language is Spanish, and it shows. As another Spanish speaker, I hear the Spanish underneath ALT0, which isn't very idiomatic and a bit subjective, though it is backed by the source and I'll leave it as an option for the promoter. ALT1 also checks out. No textual issues. Earwig mostly catches long place and organization names, but I do see some passages where it's too close to the Ambiente & Sociedade piece [2] (particularly in the area around
The exceptional biodiversity in the Cordillera del Cóndor
) and I would like to see some of that tweaked. It's almost there, though. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 04:28, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sammi Brie, Thanks for looking it over! For what it's worth, that piece is open-access/creative commons and it's cited, so there's no copyvio. But I'm happy to tweak it anyway. Larataguera (talk) 05:12, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

- @Sammi Brie: Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining that. I have rephrased a couple of things. Let me know if you need anything else. Larataguera (talk) 05:49, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- The issues I had have been resolved. This article is ready. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:03, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Larataguera: I added a citation needed tag which needs to be resolved before this is promoted. Z1720 (talk) 14:47, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Z1720:, got it. Thanks. Looks like I had the dates slightly off. First production was in 2019, but first export Jan 2020. Let me know if you need anything else. Larataguera (talk) 15:23, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Issue resolved, readding tick per review above. Z1720 (talk) 15:25, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
