Is it still a region or area that would be mentioned in other articles like Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima for it's distinctive features? Does it have some architectural or historical attractions that could be mentioned in an article on culture or architecture etc. of Japan? If there is some reason it would be referred to in other articles, then there is a reason for creating it. Mattisse (talk) 14:34, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've technically now linked this page to the Japanese equivalent of Miyajimaguchieki (i.e. Miya island 'mouth' (train) station). The name of the town on the actual island is Miyajimacho i.e. Miya island town if I'm reading my kanjis correctly at the Hatsukaichishi article. I was always led to believe that Miyajimaguchi was separate as a small municipality; I'm beginning to doubt myself though; maybe it's only the station which is so named as it's the place you come through to get to Miyajima. I have a friend from Hatsukaichishi proper; I'll have to e-mail her and ask her to be sure but she's currently travelling in Thailand and on her way to Laos and Vietnam. I've just been chatting on MSN Messenger with my friend from Hatsukaichishi (who is in Thailand and about to leave for Laos in 1 hour) and she confirmed that Miyajimaguchi (on the mainland) was a separate municipality. Miyajimacho on the island was also its own municipality.

Miyajimaguchi was a neighborhood in a town named Ōno. Miyajimaguchi itself has never been a municipality.--Sushiya 00:59, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
