Add birthday- 20/10/2004! His pranks are mostly illegal and he has been arrested for them! 77.101.86.247 (talk) 18:07, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Is there a reliable and independent source that shows his birthday? CT55555(talk) 18:08, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Recent edits by User:Elina9k

Elina9k, I already deleted your edits because they rely on the article subject's own YouTube channel. That is very much at odds with how WP:BLP articles are written, noting the need for independent sources.

That was after @User:Pigsonthewing tagged them. I see you added them in. I don't think this content is appropriate. Seeking consensus to remove (although I think you should have sought consensus to add them back in, in the context). CT55555(talk) 17:03, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

I've removed some of the worst excesses, and puffery, and tagged others as needing either sources, or better (independent) sources. If such sources cannot be found, the claims should again be removed. WP:BLP applies. Uncited material must not be restored. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:59, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
I have now removed the puffery, trivia and material attributed to tabloid, primary and low-quality sources, especially that which hints towards criminality. CT55555(talk) 20:17, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Books and Dog

I do not think this cited statement should have been removed:

Other videos show him destroying library books and stealing a dog.[1]

-- Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:14, 31 May 2023 (UTC)

Of all the things I removed, this was the one I was least confident to remove. I was thinking of WP:BLPCRIME and noting that the statement is a criminal one, and yet there is no conviction. With Evening Standard being in the yellow category here WP:RSPSS, I felt it should be removed. I still think I'm right. I also read elsewhere that he pretended to steal a dog, so I'm not deleting this on a technicality about the source, but with a genuine belief that it is wrong (the dog-theft part). I think a better source is needed for a statement about a crime.
All that said, I'm open-minded. Tell me if you think I've made a logic error somewhere. CT55555(talk) 13:32, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Entrepreneur?

Bacari essentially exposes the media and keeps his cool. This broke Andre Walker into accusing him of 'threatening behavior' by gazing into the eyes at fellow guest 'Reem Ibrahim', even though he done it to everyone on set. This proves that Andre basically enforced a racial undertone to get the press talking and essientially gain 'clout' for telling off Mizzy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnnQMVuIr2c&ab_channel=TalkTV Mizz2waveyy (talk) 19:42, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

I seek consensus after User:Mizz2waveyy and I have both reverted each other.

I think the original Mizzy is a British Prankster and calling the sections Family Life (they cover recent history) and then "Pranking" (it's not a paid job) are best. As per the sources, he is disrupting shops and I think that Mizzy blaming attention on his race is important, as per the sources.

Conversely, @User:Mizz2waveyy prefers to call Mizzy an Entertainer and prefers to break the article into the same sections, but with the titles Early Life (but it goes up to 2023) and Career (it doesn't include employment, unless being online is paid). Mizz2waveyy changed "disrupting" shops to "Trespassing" in shops and added (title case, not sure why) "Riding Bikes In Places" and deleted the racism allegation from Mizzy, and reference to the Primary incident. No explanation was given in the edit summary, and my comments on Mizz2waveyy's talk page are both unanswered.

Would be good to get other's opinions. CT55555(talk) 22:57, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

I don't really like "Pranking" as a section title - I think it's a slightly odd title and the section includes a variety of contents that goes beyond "pranking". Maybe "Pranking videos and related incidents"? But that could probably be improved. I also don't like "prankster" as a description - I also think it's an odd, as well as unspecific, way to describe someone. Wouldn't describing him as an "internet personality" (or something like that) be better?
"Family Life" seems fine Tristario (talk) 01:07, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Changed description to "internet personality" and section heading to "Activities". Hemiauchenia (talk) 01:14, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Activities is a good solution. I support that. CT55555(talk) 04:51, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Middle name of Constantine

I have (again, I think) removed the reference to a middle name of Constantine as no sources back that up, and the photo of his own official prison ID that he shared does not include it.

I recommend that if anyone has a reliable source for this middle name, they share it. Otherwise, stop adding it to the article. CT55555(talk) 15:30, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Why is this notable?

There are a galaxy of video creators doing pranks for views, many of them also make the news for their dangerous or antisocial behavior, many have been interviewed by TV and online personalities as well. What singles this person out as uncommon, notable or relevant beyond their immediate news presence? Nothing he has done has made an impact in society, science, the arts or technology beyond a brief and predictable swell of ragebaited attention. 5 years from now will this article be of interest even to the most persnickety prurients, and if so, why have the legion of congruent examples rising to similar levels of notoriety not been duly catalogued? 74.104.130.145 (talk) 00:32, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

How is he notable? Because he meets the criteria here: WP:GNG. I have seen commentary about social media algorithms, and sentencing arise from Mizzy's actions, so I think his impact is more than just his social media news flash.
Why are there not articles about other compatible people? That should be discussed elsewhere. CT55555(talk) 00:49, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
Those comments/reactions are also (relatively) as old as time. Here is one easily as 'notable' from 2019 found with a cursory search https://www.jacksonville.com/story/special/special-sections/2019/04/11/youtube-prank-star-from-florida-arrested-six-times-has-always-skated-free-will-felony-change-that/984793007/ , the subject of which has not merited a Wikipedia article despite being objectively more impactful and reaching a larger audience.
It seems more probable that this page was created as free publicity for this person to increase their online presence and lend credibility where there is none, that is certainly the only purpose it currently serves. 74.104.130.145 (talk) 14:29, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
I created this page. Please assume good faith. CT55555(talk) 15:23, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
Allow me to rephrase: without a good rationale for notability, this article is giving this person a major, unwarranted boost in visibility and influence through its presence with no significant justification for it, and therefore makes Wikipedia appear to have a strong selective bias in promoting specifically them and their activities. 74.104.130.145 (talk) 19:54, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
I would be happy for Mizzy to disappear from the public consciousness, but he does appear to have coverage in RSes (as a bit of an arse) - David Gerard (talk) 11:05, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
I don't think we should be creating articles for people based on short periods of (generally sensationalist) coverage. And our guidelines, such as WP:SUSTAINED (and WP:BLP), do also support that view. And creating wikipedia articles about 18 year olds, largely about them engaging in potentially illegal activities? Am I the only one that sees issues with this? Tristario (talk) 06:24, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
I definitely think there is a solid case for revisiting this article in six months to a year, as I think if the current coverage is all he gets them it would be a pretty clear BLP1E. Hemiauchenia (talk) 05:24, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Yes, I agree Tristario (talk) 09:57, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
I think anyone who agrees with this, hasn't read criteria #2 of WP:BLP1E, or doesn't understand that all three criteria need to be met for the guidance to apply. Not to mention, he's notable for more than one event. The guidance is about events, not themes of similar events. CT55555(talk) 12:02, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Like I mentioned there's also WP:SUSTAINED to consider, as well as WP:BLP issues (also grounds for deletion). There's also WP:1E. In regards to criteria #2 - that may still apply here if the subject "otherwise remains a low-profile individual".
If you consider making more articles like this in the future, I think you should give very serious consideration to whether they fully comply with the spirit of WP:BLP, as well as other guidelines mentioned. Tristario (talk) 12:15, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Given that absolutely nobody else agreed with your judgement about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arrest of Jacob Gregoire I really don't think your understanding of the ensuring notability of persons and events aligns with that of the broader community. Hemiauchenia (talk) 15:44, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
That feels a bit ad hominem. I'm going to exit this conversation now. Peace. CT55555(talk) 17:11, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
  • Can anyone explain what the supposed one event is here that would make BLP1E apply? Otherwise, I fully agree with CT55555. SilverserenC 20:33, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
It's more about WP:SUSTAINED, given that the current coverage only spans a few weeks. WP:SUSTAINED says brief bursts of news coverage may not sufficiently demonstrate notability. It really depends if Mizzy gets more coverage in the coming months to years that would indicate that he has long-term notability, which of course in is impossible to tell at the moment per WP:CRYSTALBALL. Hemiauchenia (talk) 20:39, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Notability

Skeptical on the notability of this article. Controversy-machines/e-celebrities rarely have actual notability besides having flash-in-the-pan news-coverage of their antics. Curbon7 (talk) 00:18, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Was a new section necessary? This is already being discussed above and we're waiting to see if sustained coverage continues on this topic. We can't say it's flash-in-the-pan when we're still in the flash period. SilverserenC 00:27, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Sorry, didn't see that section; passed through from an external news article. Curbon7 (talk) 01:06, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Major contributor tag

I did the clean up requested, and removed the tag. @Elina9k added it in so people know a connected person was involved. But I think that misses the point of the tag, the tag is to prompt people to fix things. I think I've fixed it. So I think the tag should be removed. Seeking opinions/consensus. CT55555(talk) 16:42, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

From the template documentation: "if you place this tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article. If you do not start a discussion, any editor will be justified in removing the tag without warning." Is there such a section? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:19, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
There is no such section. CT55555(talk) 22:05, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Then you're free to remove it. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:09, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Prankster?

What makes him a "Prankster"? That's what he calls what he does, but that's quite obviously the label he hides his illegal activities behind. Anyone can do anything nefarious and illegal and call it a "prank", it doesn't mean that this is what they actually are. What he actually is, is just a criminal. 31.185.163.179 (talk) 11:12, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

Agreed. Hatfinch (talk) 10:25, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
"Prankster" should certainly be changed to "Criminal." 2600:1700:BFF0:7840:6473:ED00:F6FF:1892 (talk) 01:23, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Agreed. 'Prankster' infers a harmlessness that does not suit this guy. There isn't another Mizzy on Wikipedia as a mononym so this is clearly a softener.
Either remove it entirely or go with 'tiktoker' or something, as that's where his notoriety actually comes from. 2A00:23C4:5707:6C01:D9C5:9877:A5B3:7E63 (talk) 15:26, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
I tend to agree. It was "TikToker" to start with.
This diff by User:Launchballer changed it, citing WP:COMMONNAME
I think COMMONNAME supported the origianl TikToker. CT55555(talk) 15:39, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
I stand by the move. He uploaded to both YouTube and TikTok, therefore to prioritise one over the other is undue. I also don't think any of this matters anyway; pageviews over the last two months imply that he is quite clearly the primary topic. This should be moved to Mizzy.--Launchballer 15:53, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
That is an elegant solution to this mild disagreement. I like it. CT55555(talk) 17:12, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
