Spelling[edit]

An anonymous person left a comment that the

Mongolian spelling for the word New is wrong. Instead of "Shinz" it should be "Shine".

Can anyone confirm this? The party website seems to be down at the moment. aliceinlampyland 14:26, 29 November 2005 (UTC).[reply]

I confirm the word "Shine" is correct (I am fluent in Mongolian) Lemonhead 16:41, 17 February 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Please edit the header to Mongolian Social Democratic Party[edit]

"Mongolian Social Democratic Party" united with "Mongolian Democratic Party" and the merger party is called as Democratic Party of Mongolia. It was the part of the Motherland - Democracy Coalition and have total 34 seats at the Mongolian Parliament.

Mongolian New Socialist Democratic Party does not have any seat at the Parliament. It is a new small party. It has similar policy with ex-communist party Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party. i.e. Mongolian Social Democratic Party and Mongolian New Socialist Democratic Party are contradictory parties. 1990 or 2004? MSDP or DP? SI or IDU?[edit]

While the article says that the MSDP was founded in 1990, the only source given states that the MSDP was founded in 2004. Wich one is correct?. Also, if the MSDP merged into the Democratic Party (DP) in 2000, how could it present itself to the 2012 elections? And finally, if the MSDP is still member of the Socialist International and its still member of the DP, how could be this last one member of the IDU?. Too many contradictions in this article...--HCPUNXKID (talk) 23:31, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Still looking for better sourcing, but Encyclopedia Britannica claims that MSDP merely formed an alliance with the MNDP and other parties, creating the Democratic Alliance prior to the 1996 elections. Nations Encyclopedia confirms this, though names the alliance the Democratic Union Coalition. Both sources agree that this coalition/alliance won 50 of 76 seats in that election. Both sources also agree that the coalition split prior to the July 2000 elections, with NE explicitly stating that the MSDP left the coalition at that time. Neither source appears to be able to reconcile InfoMongolia's claim of the MSDP being founded in 2004. Regarding the IDU/Socialist International claim, I don't see anything about that in either of the encyclopedia articles, but I am not seeing that we are, or even were, making such a claim in our article.
