Merge Proposal

[edit]

The merge proposal talk is here: Mountain Meadows: Merge Proposal.

Oops, I already deleted this merge proposal before I clicked the above link (only since that it has been a month now with no determination on it.) Be right back! --Justmeherenow (talk) 04:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I did the right thing. (It only links to the other article's talkpage.) :^) --Justmeherenow (talk) 04:15, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting this article

[edit]

I think this article is a bit of a chimera. We need, I think, to split it up into two separate articles, one about the Fancher-Baker party, and one about the theological background/basis for the Mountain Meadows massacre. Agreed? I think there is enough info about the Fancher party for an article. COGDEN 02:41, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. COGDEN 19:33, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits

[edit]

An editor has repeatedly been adding multiple 'citation needed' maintenance templates to the lead section of this article. Per WP:LEADCITE it is not necessary for statements to have citations when the information and references appear within the main text. These changes need to be discussed on this talk page since the addition of these templates appears to be going against editorial consensus. Shearonink (talk) 05:41, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Change title to Mountain Meadows Massacre and Mormon theology.

[edit]

Suggest the title of this article be changed from Mountain Meadows massacre and Mormon theology to Mountain Meadows Massacre and Mormon theology. Please see WP:NCCAPS. Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper name. For multiword page titles, one should leave the second and subsequent words in lowercase unless the title phrase is a proper name that would always occur capitalized, even in the middle of a sentence." Mountain Meadows Massacre is a proper name. Please see: Mountain Meadows Massacre, Boston Tea Party, American Revolution, American Revolutionary War, American Civil War, Boston Massacre, Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, Black Hawk War, Fox Wars, Wounded Knee Massacre, American Indian Wars, and Red River Rebellion. Changing the title of an article is way above my paygrade at Wikipedia. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jerry Stockton (talk) 23:41, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
