Improvements

[edit]

I believe that this article could be improved by addressing the following:

  • expand the text to discuss the subject's life in more detail, including: early life, early service, expand the Battle of Dunkirk section (what unit was he commanding?);
  • add in line citations.

Just a couple of ideas. When this article is ready for re-assessment, please add it to the list at WP:MHA. — AustralianRupert (talk) 06:15, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dunkirk

[edit]

Considering the BEF was made up of British regular and TA divisions, no Indian Army formations; what battalion did this "British Indian Army" office command and do we have a source that supports him taking part in the campaign?--EnigmaMcmxc (talk) 01:40, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

should be cited in a correct way, or at least to be identifiable. "London Gazette-original citation" is clearly quite a fanciful formatting, but hardly identifiable and certainly not verifiable reference, because when there's not given a hint as to the date, issue and page where the "original citation" is to be found, it does not refer to the source of information. Therefore I removed the claim.--78.128.176.131 (talk) 23:59, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
