Signed off?[edit]

'Seven of these were signed off in July 2008, with a further three being signed off in January of 2009.' What does 'signed off' mean in this context, please?--Harkey (talk) 14:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As the MAAs include a series of requests for power, they have to be 'signed off' by both the PM and also the Department for Communities and Local Government (at the time it would have been Hazel Blears who signed it for the DCLG) in order to transfer these powers to the local authorities. Literally, it is one piece of paper signed by about 4 or 5 people that turns the MAA into a legally binding agreement --Daviessimo (talk) 21:17, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
