Cast images

[edit]

Is there any other good candidates for images as far as the Cast section is concerned? Looking for something more candid, preferably at a press conference a la BronyCon/Comic-Con. Right now with the current setup, the professional portrait of John de Lancie and the candid photo of Scott McNeil both staring at you is kinda unnerving, really. So you're proposing they be replaced? I never really get the point of putting up giant pictures on any article; especially in this case where we have a completely empty development section. Discord was an important introduction in S2 so I say keep de Lancie and then leave it as that. --Yellow1996 (talk) 15:48, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Images are good to have in articles such as this because, as far as I've witnessed, it adds more credibility that the series is notable enough in order to bear independent articles for its seasons Obviously the show is notable enough to sustain season articles, but the my general thinking is that including more multimedia is good for establishing credibility to a topic. As for now, we only have one portrait shot of de Lancie in a professional setup. Other articles (see Adventure Time (season 1), Family Guy (season 1), and Lost (season 1)) contain more "candid" looking photos of the cast, which I guess makes it seem important in the media (think press release). You have a point there. In that case I would reccomend pictures of the voice actors for main characters first (perhaps a group photo, like on the Lost page?); then we can decide where secondary ones can fit. --Yellow1996 (talk) 15:52, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only really press-oriented photos of the main cast are the ones I can find in the BronyCon category in the Commons. Most of them are cropped from a larger image, and as a result, are quite grainy. Perhaps higher quality photos exist, but I can't seem to find them. I already put Tara Strong and Cathy Weseluck for the season 1 page, and season 3 lacks one outright. Whisternefet (talk) 21:25, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Season 1 page works quite well - good job! Too bad though that there aren't any group photos we can use. I wonder who should go on Season 3? I don't think there were any major guest stars, were there? --Yellow1996 (talk) 16:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
