Article or redirect (or delete)[edit]

Hi, TheDeviantPro.
We've been back and forth with this little stub/redirect. Let's move the talk here instead of in edit summaries, ok? I really don't care much a video game article, but it is a pity to not give it a try and think it through :-)
(My) Summary of actions so far. I turned a very poor article stub in the wrong namespace, into a poor article stub in the correct namespace. You turned into a redirect because it "Violates wp:CRYSTALBALL". I agree it is valid concern. I added two sources. One, from EA Sports (thus primary) confirms that there were expectations of a release and that it was delayed with expected date for early 2017; it supports the claim of a future release. that is one of the request for it to *not* be CRYSTALBALLy. Another source, from Forbes, goes for showing that there is "predictions, speculation, forecasts and theories" as required by CRYSTALBALL. How reliable is the source I admit I do not know, I have never read anything by that author, but I'd presume a reliable source (as Forbes) will not give space to a "contributor" if they are completely unreliable. So, maybe it is not the best of sources, but sure is above some-guys-blog. You again turned this into a redirect, quoting the second source as unreliable. Maybe. But you have not commented on the first one, by EA Sports. So I ask if maybe you'd consider that one to be reliable as to the delay and announced release date. Also I note that it asserts the no-release of a expected version of a established series from a very well known game creator/publisher, which in itself is (mildly) notable in itself beyond the scope of CRYSTALBALL. - Nabla (talk) 16:57, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem is the article is too short and there's isn't enough information to justify having it's own article. As per wp:CRYSTALBALL, under "Wikipedia is not a collection of product announcements and rumors." it states "Although Wikipedia includes up-to-date knowledge about newly revealed products, short articles that consist only of product announcement information are not appropriate. Until such time that more encyclopedic knowledge about the product can be verified, product announcements should be merged to a larger topic (such as an article about the creator(s), a series of products, or a previous product) if applicable", a two sentence article isn't enough. As far of sources, first one is fine as it's from EA website but the Forbes one is unreliable as it's a situational source as it's preferred to use an article written by a Forbes staff, as per WP:VGRS. If you going to use sources then use reliable sources, WP:VGR lists what sources are reliable to use. TheDeviantPro (talk) 22:55, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • TheDeviantPro. Fine. There's also a third editor making it a redirect, no problem :-) As for which sources a given WProject says are reliable or not, I sure can not know what lists each and every project has, but thank for pointing that one (which I'll likely forget about soon, don't take me wrong, it is just that I do not look much at games' articles, I stumbled upon this one on speedy deletion).
