How many casualties?

[edit]

Jetstreamer has reverted my edits, one of which was for changing the number of casualties, the other so that the intro did not contain more detail than the body of the articles. Not sure why the latter was changed.

Reference 3 (http://www.webcitation.org/6IUALNrgZ)- which is the most contemporary account (October 1981, the month in which the accident occurred) - clearly states that 17 passengers and 4 crew died. Note that the other Flight International ref (ref 1) does not separate passengers and crew for this accident unlike *all* the other accidents listed on that page, which seems quite strange. It was published in January 1982.

I looked long and hard for other contemporary sources, especially any accident investigation records, but could find nothing. Reference 2 (ASN) shows no sources other than the name of an individual, hence it cannot be chedked.

Given no authoritative source, I would suggest that ref. 3, the most contemporary, should be assumed correct until further data can be obtained.

All references agree with the number of casualties.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:49, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
