Hieroglyphs & the first Cosmetic palettes

[edit]

User_talk:Dbachmann has just made this into quite a nice article... I assume its importance should be at least MID, if not higher. (MID and START)

The corpus of cosmetic palettes includes 5 to 15-(of 70+-?) with hieroglyph, scenes, or elements. One nearly complete "non-standard" palette, (many are not typical) is shaped between two arms, represented by the Ka-(Egyptian soul, and Article, Ka statue),

Shortly after Naqada III, the Mummy labels or Grave goods-labels, some made of ebony or ivory, showed the "arms with the feather" in between.

I assume, the interesting period that precedes all of the Naqadas, I, II, III is when the rhomboidal palettes evolved into the different form, or being a "standardized" cosmetic palette & with the appearance of hieroglyph usage.Mmcannis (talk) 16:35, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Scorpion and Narmer palettes in particular and a long list of other palettes, maceheads, ivory labels, ostracons, and instances of recognizable glyphs include three glyphs which reference the [Earth god Aker] Double headed lions or lions facing in two different directions; tri flowered plants such as
