[edit]The Glasgow Evening News 21 March 1885: N. Cobbold (surely not short for 'Nuts'!). The Arbuthnot family tree website: Hester Marion Arbuthnot married '(William) Nevill Cobbold' 23 July 1890. It's a modern source, so you can't take it as read. But the couple's son and two grandchildren (including a girl) had Nevill among their forenames, as did Lorna Nevill Cobbold, born 1894, presumably their daughter. The clincher: the 19 July 1890 edition of the Ipswich Journal: 'The marriage arranged between Mr. W. Nevill Cobbold and Hester Marion, third daughter of Mr. W.R. Arbuthnot'. The 7 July 1890 edition of the Morning Post (London): same wording as Ipswich Journal. I've looked through hundreds of contemporary newspaper reports, none of which calls him William Cobbold.
