Dubious distinction[edit]

I suggest it is dubious to identify a New Guinea pound, when no pound notes were ever issued, nor any coins higher than one shilling. The pound referred to was always Australian. I would suggest the New Guinea pound never existed as a currency, and that the coins as New Guinea pennies and shillings are all that can be identified as New Guinea currency.
