sections to be reworked[edit]

I checked the sources on these and I don't think they say what these sentences are saying, maybe someone can rework? Jessamyn (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Chanani worked with Disney to publish Disney's Princess: Jasmine's New Pet which reflected Disney's departure from a long history of showcasing primarily Western culture. This partnership has broadened Disney's representation of cultures and evolution of inclusion within the brand.[1] Chanani works to explore the representation of people of color addressing political issues such as feminism and battling the patriarchy. She has also used her platform to advocate for diversity in literature and story-telling generally.[2]
Chanani has drawn inspiration from her mother's story of immigrating to the United States from India as a single mother and the struggles that were associated with it. This inspiration, and how they have helped her develop her own character and voice, are common themes in much of her work.[3]

COI Request to Update Language About Recent Books[edit]

I'm an intern with First Second Books and have been directed to make sure information regarding several bestselling authors is up-to-date. I'm disclosing this in accordance with Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy and am hoping to request these updates in compliance with the policy to the best of my understanding, and am happy to change or stop my requests if it turns out that I'm in conflict with the policy.

I am making a COI edit request to update the wording about Chanani's 2021 novel Jukebox and her work on I Will Be Fierce, which seem to have been written before the books were published. The page currently describes Jukebox as "slated for a 2020" release. Jukebox was published on June 22nd, 2021, and the language should be updated to reflect this. Sources can be found on Macmillan's website, in trade publications such as this Kirkus Review article, and with the book's distributors such as Barnes and Noble. The page also describes I Will Be Fierce as "to be released in 2019"; the book was released in 2019 (Macmillan, Kirkus, Barnes and Noble) and should probably be updated to the present tense for clarity. The page also lists the title as I will be Fierce rather than I Will Be Fierce; "will" and "be" should be capitalized. Leif Budget (talk) 17:18, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
