Isn't नियम nayima, and niyama िनयम?

No. नियम ni ya ma (nayima = नयिम) Jayarava 14:04, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Isn't svadhyaya - swadhyaya?

It is usual to transliterate व as 'va' when dealing with Sanskrit or Pāli. See e.g. the IAST standard Jayarava 14:04, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Pāli Sources

[edit]

The article mentions three sources, which are indeed the main sources, but including all the subcommentaries there are in fact five.

  1. Sumaṅgalavilāsinī (PTS 2.431) – commentary on the Mahāpadāna Sutta (D 14).
  2. Atthasālinī (PTS 272-274) – commentary on the Dhammasaṅgaṇi (an abhidhamma text).
  3. Abhidhammāvatāra (VRI 66; vs. 468-473; PTS 54) – A summary of abhidhamma.
  4. Abhidhamma-mātikā (VRI 58) – internal commentary on the abstract (mātikā) of the Dhammasaṅgaṇi.
  5. Abhidhammāvatāra-purāṇa tīkā (VRI 1.68) – a sub commentary on Abhidhammāvatāra.

(Where VRI indicates page numbers in the Vipassana Research Institute edition of the Chaṭṭa Sangāyana Tipiṭaka; PTS indicates page numbers in the Pali Text Society editions.) Jayarava 10:08, 14 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahaabaala (talkcontribs)

Since this has drawn no comment I have added it to the main page, and added a link to my translations as well. Jayarava 14:04, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
