Ambigous - probably outdated - statement

The system is expected to enter service around the end of the decade.

Really? - Does this statement really refer to the end of the (current) decade, that just started a few months ago? Or is it rather meant to refer to the (last) decade that has just ended and thus not only inaccurate, but completely outdated? -- 83.65.195.12 (talk) 05:12, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

fixed. the NAVAIR page says 2015. Jeff Song (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Title of page needs update

Now that the Navy has selected the Northrop Grumman design and assigned name MQ-4C Triton, title of page should be changed from BAMS to MQ-4C Triton? I think it's time. Just didn't want to do it myself without checking on the Talk page first.

I've moved the page to Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton, per WP:AIR's naming conventions for aircraft with M/D/N format. There is not enough info in the article at this time for a separate article on the BAMS project itself, but I've no objection to recreating the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance page in the future should it prove necessary to do so. - BilCat (talk) 19:28, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

MQ-4C Triton set to be first in US OK'd Unmanned Drone Squad

1. Purpose. To approve the establishment of Unmanned Patrol Squadron One Nine (VUPRON ONE NINE) and Unmanned Patrol Squadron One Nine Detachment Mugu (VUPRON ONE NINE DET MUGU), per reference (a). 2. Background. This action establishes the first of two MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aerial Surveillance (UAS) squadrons to support combatant commanders requirements for operational and exercise broad area maritime surveillance services.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

key features typo?

The sentence:

"Due regard radar for safe separation"

does not make sense to me. Is it correct? Robert.Harker (talk) 22:06, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Triton To Be UK Nimrod Replacement

The UK will halve their procurement of P8's in favour of the Triton, British teams quietly trained on the Triton between May 2014 to November 2014.Twobells (talk) 16:55, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Sources? The UK isn't even mentioned in the article that I can tell, and hasn't yet announced that they're procuring the P-8 either. - BilCat (talk) 17:04, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
To which article do you refer? I was purely laying out the British position on training and procurement. Source see here here and here in an aside RAF training is still on-going having started in may 2014 with the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance—Demonstrator teams (BAMS-D). No such claim. New reports are rumours until proven by government reports. Nothing in SDSR 2015 mentioned Tritons.Phd8511 (talk) 10:05, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

"Lead too long" tag

I trimmed some details and re-worded the lead a bit in an effort to address the "lead too long" tag. The current version, to me, looks concise enough that the tag could be removed - but I wanted to see if there were other opinions before removing the tag. I'll remove it in a day or two if no objections. Cheers! Skyraider1 (talk) 01:52, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Hearing no objections, tag removed. Cheers! Skyraider1 (talk) 19:14, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
