Monitoring only of Donbas?

[edit]

The current state of this article leaves the question of exactly what parts of Ukraine were being monitored very unclear, except to say that the "area of operation" was what OSCE SMMU covered. Without knowing what this area of operation was, the reader is forced to guess. It also makes the current full withdrawal from Ukraine seem odd, since much of the western part of Ukraine is "only" having missiles drop on it without being invaded by Russian ground forces.

My understanding (based on some of the reports) is that the monitoring was mainly of the Donbas region (on both sides of the line of contact). But someone (or some people) should check this properly and clarify the article, based on good sources. Boud (talk) 23:35, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Poorly prepared evacuation in Feb/March 2022

[edit]

A summary of https://www.politico.com/news/2022/06/10/inside-the-osces-botched-withdrawal-from-ukraine-00038847 is needed - seems like OSCE senior management didn't prepare serious contingency plans for the "Putin is crazy enough to launch a full invasion of Ukraine" scenario.
