The result of the move request was moved to Oakville Refinery. The proposal seems reasonable, and absent any objections, I think it makes sense to preform this move. –Juliancolton | Talk 01:17, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Petro Canada - Oakville RefineryOakville Refinery — According to the WP:naming convention the article naming should prefer what the greatest number of English speakers would most easily recognize. It also says that the names of Wikipedia articles should be optimized for readers over editors, and for a general audience over specialists. Most common name for this refinery by English sources is Oakville Refinery. The current name is also misspelled as the company name was Petro-Canada. As a compromise, the original name Petro-Canada Oakville Refinery may be restored, akthough as there is no other Oakville Refinery making the name ambiguous, the name does not need to include the company name.Beagel (talk) 20:28, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clarkson Refinery

[edit]

Was this the refinery on Southdown Road? When I worked at the Southdown Rd. refinery (many moons ago) it was owned by Gulf Canada and referred to as the Clarkson Refinery. Petro-Canada bought Gulf Canada, so I think I'm thinking of the same place as this article. PKT(alk) 18:32, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to this paper, it is not a same. Beagel (talk) 19:10, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good - so where was the Oakville refinery located? (looks at Google maps) Ah - this article is about the refinery that's between Rebecca St., Burloak Dr., the railway tracks and Bronte Creek - is that correct? PKT(alk) 22:07, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
