Significant recordings made here

[edit]

It seems like some pretty significant classical recordings by Marcel Dupre (organ) and by the choir of this church were made in the early 20th century. Edited to add, this was also Benjamin Britten's parish when he was a student and he composed three pieces for this church (not to be confused with the separate St. Mark's in Swindon for which he composed a different piece). There are sources for this. Should be in the article. TheBlinkster (talk) 18:37, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

De-consecrated community space, market, micro brewery and bars

[edit]

Since November 2019 St Mark's has been 'Mercato Mayfair', a 'dog-friendly' 'cultural hub and sustainable community market' operated by Mercato Metropolitano. 'A two-year £5 million restoration of the deconsecrated church, by Grosvenor, has repaired and revived the building’s heritage features.' https://mercatometropolitano.com/mmarketplace/mercato-mayfair/ https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/mercato-mayfair-london Robert P Connolly (talk) 15:45, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
