[edit]Does anyone know why when he speaks it is so staccato (or at least when he speaks english
- I think there is a linguistic reason. Icelandic is more syllable-timed than English (which is stress-timed) - basically every language has a rhythm and a beat, like music but in some languages like Spanish which is a classic example, the rhythm is based on the syllables which tend to be pronounced evenly and at a constant rate and in others its based on the stressed words in a sentence, like English, and unstressed syllables are squished together to maintain the rhythm. Icelandic is a syllable-timed language (unusually for a Germanic language) so it has a more staccato sound than English. So, that´s Orri´s Icelandic accent affecting his English for you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.219.144.80 (talk) 18:06, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
