birth date?
history before TWS&C?
—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr.Rock72 (talk) 14:30, 27 July 2006
I will do some research and see about adding to the page a bit to improve it. Dr.Rock72—Preceding undated comment added 09:07, 21 August 2006 .

Date of birth

[edit]

i've added some extra information and neatened the piece up a little. Still working on it. Have no record of a date of birth but included history before TWSC. El Scorcho—Preceding undated comment added 17:12, 31 July 2006.

I've found numerous places which refer to him being born in 1863, but no precise date of birth as such. Seashanty—Preceding undated comment added 14:59, 1 & 09:35, 2 August 2006.

Mistakes

[edit]

Actually, it doesn't seem to have been any sort of mystery regarding his date of birth, and I think there are a few other errors on this page with years and so on. Seashanty—Preceding undated comment added 14:59, 2 August 2006.

There are all sorts of mistakes, i will see about correcting them this afternoon. It seems alright apart form a few wrong dates though the statement that Ellerman contributed to his death is purely speculative and disease of the liver is rarely caused by working in a stressful environment!

There were some shockers which i have now corrected, his date of death, the date he became managing director, the bit about staying with the firm til the sale after the end of WWI (it was 1916) and took out the silly bit about Ellerman contributing to his death. I still feel someone who knows more needs to come in and expand the whole piece but at least what exists is now correct. Does anyone have any good references to use? H. Sandersons?

[edit]

I found Harry Sanderson referred (but unlinked) to in the lead 'graf, and Harold Sanderson as a See-also rdlk entry. I see no hint on either this page or the accompanying article whether they are the same person, except that a previous editor's improper use of See-also lks suggests they would probably have put the text "Harry Sanderson" in the prose, and a lk "Harold Sanderson" in the See also, if they thot those were 2 names for the same person. When there's any relevant info abt (either of) this/these person(s), we'll be in a position to do something about them.

Richard Sanderson

[edit]

I removed the link to Richard Sanderson, as it went to a singer (not a businessman). Also, https://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/harold-sanderson-shipping-man-dies.html seems to include more biographical detail about his brother (mentioned as H. Sanderson in another Talk page section).Darci (talk) 03:36, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
