Initial comments

[edit]

Celestina007 - some very initial comments to consider.

  • I've removed one of the photos, it seems to me highly unlikely this shows the head of Anthony Okoronkwo - the blurred part of the image appears much larger than a child's head and there is a significant amount of hair (braided or dreaded), whereas the other photo shows Anthony with cropped hair.
  • Some sources to consider.[1][2]

  • it would be good to get a hold of the Imo State Government Report (1997)
  • taking a very quick look at some of the sources, the riot seems very targeted - at the rich and powerful, the article does not address this.
  • i think it would be good to separate the sources and use a short footnote system.

@Goldsztajn, I’d commence correction as soon as I am back from work. Celestina007 (talk) 14:50, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn I have adjusted the article as you have requested, I however I’m amazed as to how you got the aforementioned sources, you definitely are a master at this because I searched and searched for more sources but couldn’t find one. Perhaps teach me later how you were able to see those sources. Celestina007 (talk) 23:48, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, furthermore I have added many sources to the article. Remember to ping me in your leisure time and give me a feed back. Celestina007 (talk) 23:52, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Celestina007, are you familiar with the process of archiving web articles (eg archive.org) and including this in references? Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 12:23, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
FYI I'm removing three articles from City People, Tori.ng and yabaleftonline from the sources list - they all plagiarise this 2016 piece from The Punch. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 13:18, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've begun the process of converting to a short footnote system. I'll come back to it in about 36 hours. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 13:28, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, it’s thankless arduous task you GA reviewers do, the surgical precision is beyond amazing, whilst I’m not particularly familiar with archive.org, I suppose it entails me going to website and looking for sources there, I’d address that ASAP. Thanks for the changes you made to the article, it is appreciated and means a lot to me more than words can express. Celestina007 (talk) 22:02, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, ah! I see as pertaining to the sourcing, you have done the heavy lifting for me by separating them accordingly, I edit via a mobile device and it’s extremely difficult to achieve that, it would have taken an inordinate amount of time on for me to have done so. Thanks for the assistance. Celestina007 (talk) 22:22, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Celestina007 I removed the image which looks like it was taken from a newspaper; it's actually a cropped image taken from a movie poster for a fictional film (full image can be seen here: https://afieryfilm.com/2016/01/26/check-out-the-new-concept-poster-for-otokoto/) I suggest you tag the image you uploaded (ie File:Innocent Ekeanyanwu with the severed head of 11 year old Anthony Okoronkwo.jpeg) for speedy deletion. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 06:08, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Goldsztajn, I’ve done so immediately. Thanks for the heads up. Celestina007 (talk) 10:56, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, perhaps because I edit via a mobile saving the sources thus far have proved futile, could you be so kind as to lend a helping hand? Mobile phones can be very difficult to optimize please help me out with this if or when you have time for this. Celestina007 (talk) 23:38, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Celestina007, no problems, I'll do the final ones. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 00:22, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, Thank you so very much, words can’t express how thankful I am for your assistance. In the same manner you have shown me kindness, Im eternally grateful to you and I most definitely owe you one and if ever you need my assistance in any which way I would assist you instantaneously. Celestina007 (talk) 00:30, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, Gold what should be my next step? Do I continue to add more content? I note that I could still write more for example, create a new section discussing “Leonard Unaogu” with in-depth, what are your thoughts? Celestina007 (talk) 21:02, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Celestina007, go ahead and add more as you feel. I will be able to come back to this more fully in August as I'm quite busy with a few other things right now. Kind regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 03:27, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Goldsztajn, alright would commence as soon as possible. Celestina007 (talk) 03:55, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable sources

[edit]

Just mindful that a couple of sources added to the article do not appear reliable to my mind. The article from The Awareness appears more of a blog entry. BazeCity appears to have no editorial oversight (ie simply reposting material). Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 03:58, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
