Photo

[edit]

While the several Coast Guard photos illustrate the historical light, a modern photo showing the wreck of the tower would be nice.. . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 16:27, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, Jim. See the article now. I find it a little disturbing that this once-stately lighthouse has become the Leaning Tower of Manchac. Rammer (talk) 02:28, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good photo, thank you. It is, as you say, a shame, but it is still standing -- many aren't.
You will see that I rearranged the images in the article. It is WP:EN's policy on page layout that text should not be sandwiched between images or infoboxes, so that in NRHP articles all images outside of the infoboxes must go below the text. This is to make it possible to easily view articles on anything from the smallest smartphone display to the largest wide screen. I almost put your new image in the place of honor, but the historical one better shows how it is supposed to look, so I left it below. You could change that if you though it better.
I also changed the cats on the image. Finally, I removed the {{Image requested}} tag, as no longer needed. Thanks again, and I hope you continue your recently rekindled interest in WMF projects. If I can help, drop a note on my talk page, either here, or at Commons, where I am much more active these days. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to mecontribs) 12:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Jim. See my response on your talk page. The decrepit state of that old lighthouse makes me almost want to float down there with brick and mortar and do the job myself. Rammer (talk) 17:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
