Structure[edit]

Now with structure, does it vary from parish to parish, or diocese to diocese? The church I go to, the Pastoral Council (which I will be a member of come August) is made up of 12 members. Three are appointed. Nine members are elected if there's more people interested in being on the council then there are vacacant seats. If not those interested become members without an election, which is what happened this year. Would what I described be typical for most Pastoral Councils?

Merger proposal[edit]

It seems clear from reading the two articles, and from my brief readings of the canon law involved, that the articles entitled Pastoral Council and Parish council (US Catholic Church) are discussing the same topic. They should be merged. Gentgeen (talk) 12:07, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
