Variation from the standard

[edit]

I once encountered a Benedictine monk, a scholar at a Catholic University, who had his own version of the Pater Noster cord, which he called a "Rosary of the Psalms". It had 150 large beads marking the 150 Psalms with a small bead for each verse, plus a medium bead for each of the sections of Psalm 119 -- a total of 2,633 beads. He wore it wrapped around his waist multiple times. The small beads were tiny, maybe 5mm diameter; the large weren't spheres, they were maybe 6mm thick but twice that across. I tried to find an image online, to no avail -- for all I know it may have been a custom-made unique item.

I just thought to put this here on the slim chance that someone who happens to read it just might know of this version of the Pater Noster cord. Dismalscholar (talk) 03:44, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
