accident report

[edit]

I noticed the accident report link does not work. I have no idea or experience finding this info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Onmountain (talkcontribs) 14:29, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Onmountain, I just now saw your comment, so I went ahead and fixed the link. If you'd like to do this yourself in the future, the way I found the active link was with a very quick Google search for [FTW01LA125 site:ntsb.gov]. Alternatively, if you don't have that code from the dead link, you can find it with other info, like ["May 22, 2001" manvel site:ntsb.gov].
If you look at the report, the NTSB states that the probable cause was "the flight instructor's failure to maintain control of the airplane during a touch-and-go landing, for an undetermined reason."
More info could be added to the article. There were two people on board that aircraft. Both died, the report says. Both the instructor and the student. Aviation can be mercilessly unforgiving of mistakes.
Her husband Scott was also a pilot. They both were big into flying acrobatics, I've been told. That would be good info to add to the article, if appropriate references can be found.--Tdadamemd sioz (talk) 15:48, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
