Dr. Patrick McCartan who has died, aged 74, at his residence, Karnak, Greystones, was the first Irish Republican envoy to the U.S. … Born at Carrickmore, Co. Tyrone, he studied at St. Patrick's. Armagh; St. Macartan's. Monaghan, and St. Malachy's, Belfast. He graduated in medicine from the College of Surgeons. Dublin.
