Talk:Peckham Boys
This page was proposed for deletion by Loverules22 (talk · contribs) on 16 August 2014 with the comment: Patent nonsense; glorification and embellishment of gang culture. A corollary of this is the tendentious exaggerations of the article, twinned with redundant references that do not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria sufficiently. It was contested by DGG (talk · contribs) on 18 August 2014 with the comment: this would seem to require a discussion at afd |

Rather rough and unfocussed
[edit]Not to mention I'm not convinced of accuracy, and some aspects are definitely outdated. I will try and do some work on this. Centrepull (talk) 00:27, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Proposed deletion?
[edit]DGG thinks this may require being taken to AfD. I don't. There is plenty of coverage in reliable sources such as the Evening Standard and Guardian and whatever News Shopper is (I've never heard of it). In its current state, it meets WP:GNG.--Launchballer 07:21, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Launchballer, you misinterpret. I removed the Prod, because it was not clear-cut enough for Prod, and therefore anyone deleting it would need AfD. I have no immediate view on whether the AfD would succeed. DGG ( talk ) 21:16, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ah. I won't be setting up this AfD because I would appear a hypocrite - I wrote Sneakbo - and I can't see anything wrong with the references. The Guardian, the Evening Standard, possibly News Shopper and the Metro are perfectly reliable sources.--Launchballer 21:54, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Improvements
[edit]I made some important improvements - there definitely needs to be info about the sets here and I think I covered them reasonably.
It would be helpful if anyone could find sources at some point that explicitly link Zone 2 (and/or SNR) to Peckham Boys. Zone 2 are the current main gang in Peckham. They explicitly and vocally rep Peckham Boys in their songs, but that's probably not enough for Wikipedia-verifiability standards? I'm inclined to just remove the Drill rivals in the infobox in the meantime since they arne't really relevant to what's on the article without zone 2 being discussed also (bside, Harlem, & moscow are currently listed as rivals - none of which were relevant at any point during the events or timeframes listed in the article - they're also not sourced at all but I figured I'd mention it here - the others are sourced in the references on the page).Madbrad200 (talk) 10:13, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
I added stuff with sources BurudaKidd (talk) 15:27, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Sources need to explicitly link Zone 2 with Peckham Boys. Otherwise it's out of place in the article.Madbrad200 (talk) 04:23, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
