Nothing is said about the party's philosophy, postulates, doctrine, etc.

[edit]

The whole article consists on electoral events, dates, people in power, triumphs, defeats, controversies, criticisms, etc. But there is no treatment about the party's doctrine or philosophical grounds (if indeed thay exist): is it right-wing, left-wing, centrist, or what? What are its accomplishments? Its failures? What are its links with other parties / governments in the region? One gets the feeling that the PNM party might as well be completely detached from its own country and the surrounding region: as it is, this article could just the same refer to a political party in another planet. --AVM 15:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Party if NOT Left-wing and never has been. Its out and out racism to always assume a party that has majority black support is automatically Left-wing. The PNM is a pro-business party. Eric Williams was Right-wing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.94.87 (talk) 22:23, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Political position

[edit]

@744cody and Arimaboss: Rather than edit warring over the PNM's position, we need to stick to what reliable third party sources say. The sources I can access say "centre-left". (I can't access all of them though.) While these aren't in-depth analyses, at least they're third-party sources. I don't think we can use the quote from Rowley - a politician's claims made on the campaign trail is pretty much the definition of a self-serving claim. color red present in the tables

[edit]

A red color, which is the same color as in the party's emblem, is used in the tables towards the bottom of the article. This looks like "branding" of the party's official colors into this Wikipedia article. Is this practice appropriate on Wikipedia? --Lourde Mage (talk) 16:47, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think so. There's yellow for the UNC. Guettarda (talk) 20:07, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
