Perth or Stirling?[edit]

This sentence:

It was changed to the Shire of Perth in 1961, and became the City of Perth  in 1971.

may need correction or clarification. According to some sources:

The Perth Road Board ... became the Shire of Perth in 1961 and then the City of Stirling in 1971.
... the Lieutenant Governor ... doth hereby (1) declare the Shire of Perth to be a city under the name of the City of Stirling ...from the 24th January, 1971

The scope of "Perth" can be variable (City of Perth, Perth, Perth (suburb), Perth metropolitan region, Greater Perth), but "City of Perth", "City of Stirling" are proper nouns, and thus ought to be used properly. Although even the City boundaries can change over time. According to City of Perth, "[in 1918, City of Perth] absorbed territory from Perth Road Board". nouns are irrelevent in this circumstance - the perth road board was different from perth city... see also your talk page... this needs more substance than nouns. JarrahTree 06:42, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
