Is this section on lineage for a book author relevant?
[edit]I propose that the section on lineage be removed.
--Epididymus (talk) 07:42, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
I think some of it might stay as it does have some relevance to him, but certainly the entire middle paragraph is superfluous and just repeats information from the first paragraph along with the actions of a cousin that have nothing to do with the subject of this article. I would propose changing the section heading to "Surname controversy" and eliminating the middle paragraph altogether, while possibly trimming down the first one, as well. - I would remove the whole section, firstly because it is not directly related to the subject of this article, secondly because it is obviously written by someone with a bee in their bonnet who wants to expose Frankopan as a fake, and thirdly because it just repeats what is already stated elsewhere on Wikipedia, e.g. Frankopan family. BabelStone (talk) 13:40, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- I agree that the section on his family name does seem to be written by someone with a personal agenda, and the information is not directly relevant to him so much as it is to his father. Attempts to remove it in the past have swiftly been reverted. Lilipo25 (talk) 15:24, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Promo piece
[edit]The section about Mr. Frankopan's education and academic credentials has been lifted practically verbatim from his own homepage: http://www.peterfrankopan.com/about-peter.html - the article badly needs some third-party citations for this stuff (i.e. published by reliable people or academic sources other than Frankopan himself). Under WP source control we're not allowed to use only the first-hand statements of a person to describe any important matters about said person. As it is the article reads like a book promo blurb. 80.216.104.35 (talk) 20:59, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed. Unsourced information is clearly taken from his promo material and is very biased in tone. Lilipo25 (talk) 15:30, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
