Lord Lothian was one of the most important members of the Federal Union and his speech "Pacifism is not enough" has been a crucial programmatic text for the early European Federalism. It is a pity that this is not mentioned in the text.--El Duende (talk) 12:14, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

After his passing, Lloyd George said in the Commons: "he was intensely religious but never flaunted it; he was intensely religious without bigotry, without intolerance; and without any of the hatreds that too often are an ardent faith." This is a quotation from his biography by J R M Butler, page 313.
