Fair use rationale for Image:Pikorio.jpg

[edit]

Image:Pikorio.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 28 September 2024

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Multiple possible titles were proposed for this article, but none seem to have been convincingly shown to be preferable to the others. The discussion has been relisted twice and consensus does not seem to be developing. (closed by non-admin page mover) ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 20:59, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Piccolino no BōkenPinocchio (1976 TV series) – Official English name, per Studio 100 International's site. VenezuelanSpongeBobFan2004 (talk) 20:30, 28 September 2024 (UTC) — Relisting.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:34, 7 October 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. cyberdog958Talk 19:31, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination and, if preferred by consensus, would also support the alternative option linked above by Dekimasu, Piccolino no BōkenThe Adventures of Pinocchio (1976 TV series). "Piccolino" is an unrecognizable transliteration to use for this iconic character as part of an English Wikipedia main title header. Additionally, as also pointed out by Dekimasu, the currently existing header does not even properly represent the original Japanese title. In this instance, it appears best to WP:UE. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 23:51, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So far, there is no justification for moving this to the proposed title aside from a single disputed link. The proposed title is not a common name and the claim that the proposed title is "official" is dubious. The ANN link used in the article uses The Adventures of Pinocchio and links to Nippon Animation as the "official site". By the way, the name of the character in the show is Piccolino; it's not a transliteration. This is emphasized by the fact that the direct translation of the Japanese title would be The Adventures of Piccolino: Based on Pinocchio, and that the normal name used for Pinocchio in Japanese is "Pinocchio". The plot section of the article should be updated to reflect the character's actual name (or should be deleted entirely, since it is completely unsourced).
