Needs desperate improvement!

[edit]

This article does not include any production details, roles, or even a plot! It desperately needs improvement or it could be nominated for deletion. WikiSmartLife (talk) 16:46, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

None of those are required elements of an article about a film, that have to be provided before the film is eligible to have an article at all. They are certainly elements that can be added when somebody who knows them is able to — but as I have not personally seen the film, I am not able to describe its plot in depth, or speak to who played what role outside of what I was able to extract from the sources. However, the Genie Award nominations mean that an article must be allowed to exist whether it's written to your satisfaction or not. Wikipedia does not have a deadline: if a film has nominations for a top-level national film award, constituting an unequivocal pass of our subject-specific notability criteria for films, then its eligibility for an article does not depend on whether "production details" or a "plot description" are already present in it or not — it depends solely on sourcing that the film exists and that it got award nominations, and anything else beyond that can be added whenever the hell anybody who has the ability to add that stuff decides to get around to it. Whether that takes ten days or ten years, however, the article still stays, because its notability depends on award nominations and not production details.
