Chimpanzee as artist
[edit]Would "Pierre" actually be a fake artist? Peter did create the paintings after all, they were just presented as being a human's work! AniRaptor2001 (talk) 02:36, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
I made some minor edits to hint at this point. The hoax, indeed, is that the paintings were made by a human artist cognizant of the theory behind "avant-garde modern art." The chimp may be an artist, but clearly is not practicing the art with the same intent as a human trying to achieve the objective of the avant-garde, whatever that may be.
