[edit]I notice that post office opening dates from www.premierpostal.com have been added to a large number of articles. This website appears to be a commercial webpage for an auction house. These are not normally considered acceptable as sources for Wikipedia. Unless we can demonstrate that the author of www.premierpostal.com is an expert in their field or that www.premierpostal.com has a strong reputation for fact-checking and accuracy and an acceptable editorial process, all those references are going to have to be removed.
There is a standard for what material can be used for references on Wikipedia, and www.premierpostal.com doesn't seem to meet those standards in any way. It's a commercial website for a philatelic auction house that seems to just list post office opening and closing dates as a form of Google-bombing. Even if the material is perfectly accurate and taken from some reliable source, we still need to reference the original source, not the commercial website with no apparent editorial oversite.
If you think that www.premierpostal.com is a reliable source, then take a look at WP:RS and let me know where I've gone wrong.Mark Marathon (talk) 11:20, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
:Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board will need to be notified so that Australians may have their input. I won't do it tonight lest my internal curmudgeon emerges. Regards Crusoe8181 (talk) 11:33, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed, we should list it there as well. Mark Marathon (talk) 11:34, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
