Should this not be referred to as the Polmont accident?

Yep, the official report calls it that, so I've moved it. Goose 18:17, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the statement that Push-Pull operations withdrawal was sped up, is open to debate. Push-Pull operation in the Scottish Region was actually expanded after the Polmont accident, with further DBSO's and 47/7 locos converted for use on the Aberdeen to Glasgow services. They were transfered south of the border after the introduction of Class 158 units, and still to this day, the DBSO's are in Push Pull operation.
