Assessment
[edit]I am assessing this article for WikiProject Schools following a request. Clearly this school is highly notable with its age and number of alumni (even if lacking in sources), so I'm upping it to high-importance, though I am leaving the existing content rating at Start-class. This article has a lot of potential, but also needs a lot of work.
Firstly, there are huge gaps in sourcing and these need to filled per WP:V. Also, the references section has just two unique sources, which may not even be enough to strictly pass WP:N. Beyond general expansion of references and content, the article needs to be re-organised to conform better with the standard layout of school articles with missing sections added as appropriate - see WP:WPSCH/AG#S for ideas, and also WP:WPSCH/AG#WNTI for what not to add. The statistics section is inappropriate and the content should either be moved into the infobox, placed in prose in another section, or got rid of entirely. The alumni section should not rely on the category to list all notable alumni i.e. they should all be listed in the article itself with appropriate referencing. If the list gets to long, which might do with this article, I would recommend creating a sub-article with just summary in this article. Finally, the houses section would be much better in prose; outside the notable alumni section, bulleted lists should be kept to a minimum. CT Cooper · talk 22:21, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
The Head Teacher
[edit]There seems to be a lot of confusion and constant backwards and forward edits so I just wanted to make this clear; Mrs Armstrong IS NOT the headmistress of Portora. Yes, she will be the headmistress of ERGS but not Portora. The Headmaster is still Neil Morton and he will be until the school closes in June this year *sniff* — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.157.220.143 (talk) 18:09, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
