[edit]

There may be found some public domain images at the royal danish library http://www.kb.dk/images/billed/2010/okt/billeder/da/?query=poul%20henningsen&mode=list&itemsPerPage=20&page=1 --Thorseth (talk) 19:18, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Considering their dates they are most likely not copyright free, though. See here for a disclaimer from the library about usage. --Saddhiyama (talk) 19:34, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You are right but, images without artistic merit, become public domain in denmark, if they are published before 1970. Furthermore, the oldest of the photographers have died more than 70 years ago - which expires the copyright in the EU.--Thorseth (talk) 21:22, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see. I must not have looked at all of them, because the oldest photograph I found was from 1950. But they need to be transferred to Commons under the correct licences. The PD-50 licence is not unproblematic either, because it does not necessarily apply in other countries. However it would be a nice contribution to have some of the pictures there. The Danish articles on more contemporary persons are desperately in need of images precisely on account of the strict copyright rules. --Saddhiyama (talk) 21:42, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
