This page is ill-conceived. There should instead be a page for "Progessive Conservative candidates"; there is no equivalent page for any other Ontario provincial election year, and many of the candidates were candidates in other years. Another option is that these bios should be "broken out" into their own articles. Sdedeo 22:09, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
I disagree:
(i) A page for "Progressive Conservative candidates" would become hopelessly large, pretty quickly.
(ii) There is no equivalent page for any other election year, because this is the first one to be started. Other pages may follow in the future.
(iii) If a candidate runs in multiple elections, his/her bio should be located at the list-page for the most recent campaign. These mini-bios can be moved pretty easily, if required.
(iv) Some candidates have their own bios, but the general Wikipedia consensus is that defeated provincial candidates don't deserve their own pages. This sort of page was created as a compromise.

Hi CJ --
It seems that this would require a lot of upkeep. For example, every time there is a new election, people would have to go through and manually cut and paste the content from earlier elections. It would also be prone to error.
Secondly, are people really going to go through the effort of creating pages for every single election stretching all the way back to the founding of the PC party?
I haven't checked, but are there pages for all the other parties as well?
It looks like you guys have put a lot of effort into this stuff, for which I congratulate and thank you. It just seems to me that you are organizing things in a rather difficult way. On the other hand, I can't think of a better way to do it at the moment, except for breaking out all the bios into separate articles, which might generate pain in the ass VfDs.

You hit the nail on the head with your last point. I *was* creating pages like this as separate bios, until vfd wars put an end to the practice. The list-pages are the next-best solution.
There are pages like this for other parties, yes. CJCurrie 20:41, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps it might make things easier to have PC candidates, 1950-1970, 1970-1990, 1990-present. Or something. It would mean you wouldn't have to keep updating things every election. Good luck. Sdedeo 05:07, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
