Listing protodeacons

[edit]

Perhaps someone can edit a historic list of protodeacons? 83.85.143.141 (talk) 16:24, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ceased to dormant

[edit]

The article said the protodean's role in crowning a pope has effectively ceased. As no pope has abolished the coronation, and it is simply not used but could be instated by any new pope, the phrase is inaccurate. I have changed it to "dormant", which is used to refer to something that still exists but isn't done or used at present. A dormant action can be brought back to use at any time. Something which has ceased cannot. Dominant in effect means "parked" but doesn't rule out a return. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 18:40, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
