This subject is rated high/DE-top because the Prussian state railways were the largest of the German state railways by a huge margin and their influence, not just in Germany, but across Europe was significant. They produced steam locomotives in vast quantities, some classes numbering several thousand. And they led the way in setting standards that were later largely adopted by the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
