Partie civil
[edit]The current French article hooks up to Plaintiff; not convinced this is correct Elinruby (talk) 09:41, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Elinruby:, no, it's not; or at the very least, it's insufficient. I wouldn't have been able to tell you that a week ago, but this deep dive into glossary building has been (and continues to be) very productive. Mostly only A – D are done, but there are a few P's and scattered others, and I happened to have done partie civile recently, and just updated it. Just plain plaintiff wouldn't come close to explaining it in a definition, however if there were a whole section where it had been defined and explained, then rather than repeat the long version every time, in that limited context, plaintiff would be sufficient as clearly referring back to the previous explanation. Or, you could combine it with a slash, if there were a long section, and it wasn't used again until further down, so then maybe something like "and the victim/plaintiff can initiate a request with the investigating judge..." or similar. Mmmmmm I think I understand based on something I read. I am trying to get back to this, but I am currently doing an edit at 2023 Praça dos Três Poderes attack, want to come help? I just deleted a copy vio image Elinruby (talk) 01:30, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, and I think they reverted, or in any case, added something on your TP which shows they don't understand what copyvio is all about. Mathglot (talk) 10:16, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

By the Public prosecutor
The Public Prosecutor's Office receives complaints and denunciations and is free to decide what action to take. This is embodied in the Principle of discretionary prosecution [fr] in favor of the Public prosecutor's office.
By the victim
The victim may in some exceptional cases set the action publique in motion. This can be done through a complaint, a constitution de partie civile or by a citation, citation directe. |
